UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – Enviroment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Cornwall and SD&G as the first thunderstorm of the season threatens the area.
The weather is expected to reach the region late this afternoon or early this evening.
“Heavy downpours suddenly reducing visibility to less than 1 km are also possible” the statement reads. “Motorists should exercise caution. Strong gusty winds and heavy downpours will result in difficult driving conditions.”
The fast moving system is expected to move west and out of the area sometime this evening.
