CORNWALL, Ontario – Chantal Turcotte, 48, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 25, 2018 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime, unlawful use of a credit card, theft under $5,000 X3 and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace.
It is alleged on Jan. 1, 2018 the woman took a banking card from someone she knows without permission her permission and made several transactions within the city. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Jan. 25, 2018 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 15, 2018.
POSSESSION OF COCAINE, BREACH
CORNWALL, Ontario – Rachel Oakes, 28, of Cornwall was arrested on Jan. 26, 2018 and charged with possession of cocaine and breach of recognizance for being in possession of illegal drugs. It is alleged in the early morning hours of Jan. 26, 2018 the woman was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine when she was stopped at the Port of Entry. Police were contacted and took the woman into custody. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
CORNWALL, Ontario – A 37-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man both from Cornwall were arrested on Jan. 25, 2018 and charged with assault. It is alleged during an argument on January 21st, 2018 the husband and wife assaulted each other and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation both were taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on February 20th, 2018. Their names were not released as it would also identify them as victims.
IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, OVER 80
CORNWALL, Ontario – Bernard McPhail, 52, of Lunenburg was arrested on Jan. 25, 2018 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80. It is alleged on Jan. 25, 2018 the man was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol while in the area of Second Street and Amelia Street. He was taken into custody during a traffic stop, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on Feb. 13, 2018.
