Teen arrested for theft of bike, and assault

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 26, 2018 and charged with theft under $5,000 and assault. It is alleged on May 30, 2018 the youth took a bicycle that did not belong to her from a Ninth St. business.

It is further alleged on June 18, 2018 the youth assaulted another youth who was known to her and police were contacted to investigate. On June 26, 2018 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the youth was in custody on an unrelated matter. She was charged accordingly and remained in custody pending a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
