Texting threats to ex leads to arrest

CORNWALL, Ontario – A jilted lover was arrested for sending his ex-girlfriend threatening text messages, according to city cops.

A 21-year-old Cornwall man turned himself into police custody and was arrested on Wednesday (March 11) in connection to the alleged texts sent to the 18-year-old woman on February 11.

He was charged with threats to life and held for a bail hearing.

The (alleged) bicycle thief

Not too many stolen items can double as your getaway. But a 24-year-old Cornwall man accused of entering a Ninth Street store and walking out with a bicycle on March 11, didn’t make it far before police caught up to him.

Taylor Bergeron was later spotted at the Cornwall Square and taken into custody. The suspect was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of marijuana, and breach of two probation orders for failing to keep the peace.

The man was held for a bail hearing.

Man faces sexual assault charge

A 35-year-old Cornwall man accused of a disturbing crime turned himself into police custody on March 10.

According to city cops, Donald Greggain sexually assaulted a 28-year-old woman on February 1.

He was charged with sexual assault and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace.

The suspect and victim knew each other.

He was released to appear in court on April 16.
