The pandemic may have delayed our annual Volunteer Thank You Luncheon for three years – but nothing can change our gratitude for these amazing current and past community volunteers!

“It was wonderful to bring everyone together at the Chesterville Legion and celebrate everything our volunteers do every day at WDMH to support our patients and the WDMH team,” noted Cholly Boland, CEO. “We missed them during the pandemic and are glad to have them back as an essential part of the WDMH team.”

A highlight of the event was the Service Awards. Pins recognizing milestones between 5 years and 35 years were presented to deserving volunteers. “We are excited to celebrate you today! Thank you for your dedication and service. Without you, our work would not be possible,” noted Catherine O’Neill, Coordinator, Academic Affairs and Volunteer Services.

As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations for both WDMH and the Auxiliary, special commendations were received from Ontario Minister of Health Sylvia Jones, and MPP Nolan Quinn. The WDMH Leadership team served lunch provided by WDMH’s Dietary team. And a WDMH band – made up of staff and physicians – provided the entertainment.
