The big man in red parades through Cornwall on Saturday

CORNWALL, Ontario – Mark your calendars – the annual Santa Claus Parade will be held on Saturday.

The 44th edition of the parade will be kick off at 5 p.m. at St. Lawrence Secondary School on Second Street East and proceed west to Augustus Street. The floats will turn south on Augustus Street and unload their passengers into waiting buses to be taken to the Civic Complex for award presentations and hot treats.

“This will provide more room so everyone can come inside and warm up and the parking at the Civic Complex will provide a safe area to pick up the parade participants,” said Terry Muir, one of the event organizers.

The theme for this year’s parade is Christmas Dreams and even as the big day draws near, organizers are still accepting entries.

“Whether you are part of a school, a business, an organization, a family or just a group of friends that want to be part of the parade and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, you are welcome to join us at no charge,” said Mr. Muir.
