CORNWALL, Ontario – Rurban officially opened their tap room this weekend, March 3, 2018, with more space for the public to be able to grab a 12-ounce beer straight from the brewery.
Andy and Karen Rorabeck opened Rurban almost 4 years ago but have been home brewing for close to 20 years.
“When we were in Scotland for our honeymoon 20 years ago, we were drinking some beers of the like that we had never seen before. When we got back to Canada we tried to get some but we couldn’t, so we found out how to make them,” explained Andy Rorabeck.
Rurban supplies their beer to almost 25 locations throughout the SDG including Stomping Grounds, Schnitzels, Esca, and the Best Western to name a few.
“The local support here has been fantastic!” said Karen.
For Rurban, this was the next step to growing their business.
Their new tap room is much larger, more open and has a nice space which includes a new bar.
“We’ve been in the Cornwall area since the 90’s and it was the only place I ever considered,” said Andy.
During their opening weekend, Rurban not only served a cold beer but sent proceeds to the Agapè Centre.
“I love the new area, space and tables make the room more conducive to sitting down and enjoying a glass of beer with friends,” said Jeff Lalonde, a friend, and patron to Rurban Brewery.
Rurban will continue to bring smiles to peoples faces and tasteful beer to their lips!
