CORNWALL, Ontario – After jacking a Seaway Express rig from Cornwall, the suspects headed to South Glengarry to finish the heist, driving off with a 53-foot tractor trailer full of appliances.

Between Tuesday night (June 2) and Wednesday morning (June 3), the load of washers and dryers was stolen from a commercial property on Glen Road.

Several other trailers on the property were ransacked, but nothing was taken.

Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry OPP officers were alerted to the incident at 3:11 p.m.

The trailer is described as a 2000 Trailmobile 53’ fully enclosed unit, with white sides, brown rear doors and nose piece, and features a logo (V.A.) in white on an orange circle on the sides and rear door.

A few hours into the investigation, provincial police received a tip (at 4:56 p.m.) that a new 7×14’ black “Stealth Liberty” enclosed cargo trailer was stolen from a commercial property on Moulinette Road in South Stormont, as the Cornwall-South Glengarry heist took place.

Meanwhile, the Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) are investigating the theft of the white international day cab tractor.
