UPDATE 2:09PM: Tornado Warning in effect for North Glengarry. Tornado Warning in Winchester-Newington has ended.

WINCHESTER, Ontario – Environment Canada has issued a Tornado warning for North Dundas and South Stormont.

“At 1:35 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible,” the Environment Canada Warning reads. “Radar indicates a tornado may be forming about 10 kilometers northeast of Kemptville moving eastwards at 50 kilometres per hour. This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.”

This is on top of a Thunderstorm Watch for Cornwall and the rest of the United Counties, except for North Glengarry which is under a Thunderstorm Warning.
