A tractor trailer fell on its side on Hwy. 401 on Tuesday

LANCASTER, Ontario – A tractor trailer fell on its side near the west bound Hwy. 401 on ramp at County Rd. 2 in Lancaster.

The accident occurred just around 1 p.m. in the afternoon on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and all west bound lanes were blocked. OPP reported that emergency vehicles were being sent to the scene, but did not elaborate if there were any injuries to report.

As of 2:30 p.m. estimated time of re-opening for the west bound lanes of Hwy. 401 was at least two hours.

It is unclear as to what caused the accident, but the tractor trailer was apparently carrying some kind of wood, which was strewn across the highway when the vehicle tipped over.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
