Two arrested in drug bust

CORNWALL, Ont. – City police have shut down an alleged drug trafficking operation on Meadowvale Crescent with the arrests of two people.

The Cornwall Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant on Wednesday (April 6). Officers allegedly found cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone, methamphetamine, and brass knuckles as well as an undisclosed amount of cash (Canadian and U.S. currency).

Cody Beauchamp, 23, and Michaela Leger, 21, were arrested at the scene.

Both were charged with possession of cocaine, possesion of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, property obtained by crime (cash), possession of Oxycodone, possession of Oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking, and possesion of marijuana.

The male suspect also faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles), and possession of Buprenorphine.

The accused were released to appear in court at a later date.
