CORNWALL, Ontario – Coun. Brock Frost was a no-show at the first council meeting to take place following his emailed resignation.
“Brock Frost has called in his regrets,” deputy clerk Manon Levesque announced to kick off Monday’s meeting.
He was also a no-show for the in-camera meeting that precedes the public portion of Monday’s session at city hall, said a source.
Frost announced last week, via email, that he would be resigning from council in the wake of news that he is facing criminal charges in Quebec related to fraud and forgery.
But city hall still has not received his resignation papers.
Deputy clerk Manon Levesque confirmed her office has not heard from Frost on the resignation, as of noon Monday.
Frost has likewise not responded to emails and calls for comment.
Rumours are running rampant in the city about just what is going on.
Coun. Andre Rivette also missed Monday night’s meeting – but it’s unlikely he will be announcing a resignation any time soon.
