CORNWALL, Ontario – Children and staff were locked in their schools in Ingleside following a robbery in the village.
Now police are looking for a suspect.
At about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday a man armed with a knife robbed the IDA Pharmacy in Ingleside. He escaped with a quantity of narcotics and no one was injured.
He is described as a white male, 5`10’’, 40-50 years of age, unshaven wearing eye glasses, a forest green parka, black pants and black/white running shoes.
Schools were put under a so-called “hold and secure” Wednesday afternoon, but it was lifted less than an hour later.
One parent told Seaway News they had been advised by their child that a robbery took place at an Ingleside store, and that the thieves were still at large.
Police were said to be combing the village, presumably searching for the thief, said witnesses.
