UPDATE: Frost alleges sexual harassment, also claims peace bond application filed

CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall city councillor is alleging he has been sexually harassed by a local website operator.

Coun. Brock Frost sent out a press release Tuesday afternoon making a series of sexually-charged allegations against Jamie Gilcig.

In a posting on his website Wednesday afternoon Gilcig conceded he is aware of the allegations and denied the actions ever took place.

Seaway News made the decision at that time to update this story with his identity.

Gilcig has not yet responded to a pair of requests for comment.

Chief among the allegations from Frost is that Gilcig made sexual advances towards the rookie city councillor beginning in January, and that the unwanted interactions continued despite Frost’s desire to see them stopped.

Frost claims the “very graphic sexual propositions” continued, despite attempts to convince Gilcig the former Cornwall River Kings owner is not a homosexual.

Frost indicated to Seaway News he has met with Cornwall police to lodge a formal complaint.

Cornwall police Const. Dan Cloutier would not comment on that suggestion.

Frost said the sexual propositions were done face to face, and he has no record of the interactions.

“Mr. Gilcig would continue to make advances towards me every time I saw him in public, ” Frost said. “It quite frankly got out of control. Eventually I had to block him from Facebook which I quickly realized only fueled his obsession with me. I received numerous sexual advances through private messages that were rumoured to be false accounts operated by Mr. Gilcig.”

Frost sent out yet another media release Wednesday afternoon, claiming that he has filed a peace bond application against Gilcig in the Ontario Superior Court.

In Canadian law, a peace bond is an order from a criminal court that requires a person to keep the peace and be on good behavior for a period of time.
