UPDATE: Frost grappling with health issues, says mayor, books European vacation

CORNWALL, Ontario – Coun. Brock Frost won’t be back to city hall until the end of next month, he’s on a medical leave that has necessitated a European vacation.

Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy said Monday the rookie councillor is dealing with “health issues” and did not get into specifics.

“He will be absent until Oct. 27 based on a doctor’s recommendation,” said the mayor Monday night. “We are looking for his return Oct. 27 and we certainly wish him a speedy recovery.”

Frost was not at Monday’s council meeting, but his Facebook page indicates he has booked a vacation in Europe.

“There’s an old English proverb that says ‘When you’re physically and mentally exhausted from stress, stop everything you’re doing immediately and book a spontaneous flight to Estonia, rent a car, and then drive through Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus and into Ukraine,'” said a Facebook status update attributed to an account bearing his name dated Sept. 24. “I leave in nine days.”

Earlier today he posted a photograph of a map of the area he will visit with the tagline: “See you soon, my lovely.”
