UPDATE: Good afternoon, Vietnam

By Adam Brazeau
CORNWALL, Ontario –  Vietnam Cultural Day immersed more than 50 people in the aromas, sounds, colours, tastes, and history of a diverse country.

Ha Luong, one of 18 Canada World Youth volunteers who have spent the last two months in Cornwall, showcased Vietnamese traditions at the Nav Centre on Sunday, Dec. 7.

Guests enjoyed ‘nem’ spring rolls, with tea, an ‘ao dai’ (Vietnamese long dress) fashion show, traditional performances, games, food, and some left with a souvenir.

“It’s a community event for people to experience our culture,” said Luong.

He boasts that Vietnam’s 4,000-year history has seen 54 diverse ethnic groups living in harmony, and has some of the healthiest cuisine in the world.
