CORNWALL, Ontario – Cst. Dan Cloutier of the Cornwall Communit Police Service confirmed to Seaway News that they received a call of a death at around 1:30 p.m.
Just before 5:45 p.m. Cornwall Police tweeted “no foul play suspected in sudden death.”
He said that no details n theo cause or identity of the victim were available as the Fire Services were still clearing the scene of hazardous materials. He could only say that the victim was a male.
Saunders Drive was closed from Second St. West to Power Dam Drive.
Cloutier said that there was only one fatality.
He confrimed that the body was discovered inside a vehicle near where the old soccer dome on Saunders Drive used to be.
“Right now we are just establishing a perimeter until Fire Services confirm that its safe to approach,” he said.
Cloutier said that there was no danger to public safety.
Saunders Drive will remain closed until the vehicle is removed.
