Water shutdown possible in parts of Glen Walter area

CORNWALL, Ontario – Residents in the Glen Walter area could be without water for several hours Wednesday.

South Glengarry officials said via a media release Tuesday that repair work on a leaky water valve in the community east of the city is to blame.

The township will be repairing the valve near County Road 2 and Street ‘A’ in Glen Walter.

South Glengarry wants to complete the repair work without shutting off the water, but if it must resort to that the following areas will be without water:

  • County Road 2 from Kilkenny Crescent to and including Farlinger Point
  • Place St. Laurent
  • Purcell Road

If the water is shut off it could be for as long as four hours. It’s unclear when the water will be shut off during the day, said the township.
