In her first week at Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) as our new Vice President, Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Executive, Janie Desroches was kept busy. She started meeting the WDMH team, served food at the Volunteer Appreciation Lunch, attended the Annual General Meeting and a Leadership planning session – and even learned the official WDMH song. And she says it’s been an amazing seven days.
“I love the sense of community,” says Janie. “It’s inspiring to see the level of engagement teams have in continuously improving the care and services provided. There is a lot of collaboration and many examples of people working as one team. Everyone truly cares about the hospital, our patients and the community.”
Janie is a Registered Nurse with over 16 years of experience in health care. She comes to WDMH from Montfort Hospital where she spent 10 years, most recently as a director focusing on quality, risk management and patient support. She has also managed rehabilitation, stroke services, infection control, frail adult services, emergency measures, patient registration, housekeeping and food services. She has experience in long-term care and has done work with the World Health Organization.
Janie has degrees in nursing, health administration and business administration.
Welcome Janie!
