CORNWALL, Ontario – A lot of local stores and services will remain open in the city on Monday, Aug. 6 during the Civic Holiday.

Outdoor pools, the Benson Centre and the Aquatic Centre will be open for regular programming. The Civic Complex walking track will be open for walkers and joggers from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The LCBO on Brookdale Ave. will be open from 12 to 8 p.m. and The Beer Store on Sydney St. will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other LCBO and The Beer Store locations will be closed.

Food Basics on Brookdale Ave. and Second St. will be open regular store hours, and Your Independent Grocer will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Cornwall Square will be open for shoppers from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shoppers Drug Mart on Brookdale Ave. will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Second St. location.

Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. The regular Monday collection will be pushed to Tuesday, and regular Tuesday collection will be pushed to Wednesday, and so on.

Municipal offices, Cornwall Transit, the City Landfill, and Cornwall Public Library will be closed on Monday.
