Woman arrested for theft, carrying concealed weapon

Cornwall, ON – Kristen Burnell, 20, of Cornwall, was arrested on January 10, 2019 and charged with the following:

• Fraud under $5000 x 3
• Possession of property obtained by crime x 6
• Theft under $5000 x 3
• Theft over $5000
• Utter a forged document x 2
• Unlawful use of credit card
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Carry a concealed weapon

It is alleged throughout September and October of 2018, the woman used various bank cards that did not belong to her, as well as endorsed and deposited stolen cheques. Additionally, on January 6, 2019 the woman attended a Brookdale Ave. business and removed an electronic device, making no attempt to pay for the item before leaving the business. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued.

On January 10, 2019 police located the woman. She was taken into custody, at which time she was found to be in possession of a knife. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
