CORNWALL, Ontario – This Friday, June 7, 2019, Lamoureux Park will be a little wild and a little prehistoric for one night only.

The City of Cornwall in partnership with local teacher Trevor Deschamps have decided to turn Cornwall’s largest waterfront greenspace into a Jurassic Park and screen the next Toronto Raptors playoff game against the Golden State Warriors live.

A large inflatable screen will be put up on the west side of the Cornwall Civic Complex, and the public are invited to take part in this free event. O’Neill’s Pub will be setting up a cash bar on the premises for those who want a refreshment.

Deschamps told Seaway News that he had been a fan of the Raptors for a long time and was impressed when he visited the original Toronto Raptors Jurassic Park in Toronto.

“I saw these parks popping up in other communities and thought why couldn’t we have one here,” said Deschamps.

Deschamps posed that very question on social media and the buzz quickly turned into a solid plan for a fun evening of basketball enjoyed outdoors.

The game starts at 9 p.m. and the Raptors currently lead the series 2-1. The Toronto Raptors are the first Canadian team to ever make it to the finals of the NBA.
