TORONTO — Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB). Energy. Down five cents, or 0.09 per cent, to $53.03 on 7.5 million shares. 

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Energy. Up 87 cents, or 1.86 per cent, to $47.73 on 7.5 million shares. 

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Materials. Up nine cents, or 0.44 per cent, to $20.58 on 5.7 million shares. 

Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO). Financials. Down 22 cents, or 0.18 per cent, to $125.27 on 5.5 million shares. 

Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX:WEED). Health care. Down 34 cents, or 6.68 per cent, to $4.75 on four million shares. 

Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (TSX:TVE). Energy. Up eight cents, or 1.52 per cent, to $5.33 on 3.9 million shares. 

Companies in the news:

Equitable Group Inc. (TSX:EQB). Down 22 cents, or 0.46 per cent, to $48.06. EQ Bank owner Equitable Group Inc. said Tuesday it has closed its takeover of Concentra Bank in a deal valued at $495 million. Toronto-based Equitable said the takeover of Concentra boosts its assets under management base by $13.6 billion to make it the seventh largest independent bank in Canada by assets.

Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. (TSX:TRQ). Up $2, or 5.21 per cent, to $40.36. Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. has delayed a shareholder meeting to vote on Rio Tinto’s deal to take the company private until Nov. 8. The company’s board has unanimously recommended that the company’s minority shareholders vote in favour of the deal, but it has faced opposition. The company announced a deal in September that would see Rio Tinto, which already owns a 51 per cent stake in the company, acquire the rest of the miner for $43 per share in cash.
