OHL Roundup: Jackson, Robertson lead Battalion to 5-0 thumping of league-leading 67’s

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Kyle Jackson scored two goals, Charlie Robertson posted an 18-save shutout and the North Bay Battalion defeated the Ottawa 67’s 5-0 on Thursday.

Nikita Tarasevich, Owen Van Steensel and Anthony Romani added the others for North Bay (15-6-0) which sits one spot behind the OHL-leading 67’s in the Eastern Conference.

Max Donoso stopped 21-of-25 shots before making way for Collin MacKenzie, who made nine saves in 17:10 of playing time for Ottawa.

 It’s the second straight loss for the 67’s (18-3-0) which had previously gone on two separate nine-game winning streaks this season.


PETERBOROUGH, ONT. — Evan Konyen notched a hat trick as Sudbury (7-10-2) earned a comeback win over Peterborough (12-7-1-2). Konyen scored two of his three goals in the midst of four unanswered from the Wolves who came back from down 4-2 to win.


ERIE, PA. — Elias Cohen scored two key goals as Erie (10-7-0-2) came back from a goal down to defeat Sault Ste. Marie (5-9-4-4). The Otters were down 2-1 entering the third and netted three unanswered goals, the first two from Cohen, in the final 2:41 of the game.
