OHL Roundup: Knights hold off Steelheads 5-4 for eighth consecutive victory

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Ruslan Gazizov had two goals and one assist, Brody Crane added a goal and three assists and the London Knights won their eighth in a row beating the Mississauga Steelheads 5-4 on Sunday.

Sean McGurn and Logan Mailloux each recorded a goal and one assist for London (17-7-1). Zach Bowen made 42 saves.

Kai Schwindt, Luke Misa and Luca DelBelBelluz, who notched two goals, provided the offence for Mississauga (12-10-3). Ryerson Leenders stopped 15 shots.

McGurn’s goal 1:58 into the third period put the Knights up 5-2 before the Steelheads scored twice, the last coming with 2:07 remaining. 

Mississauga outshot London 46-20 and went 1 for 5 on the power play. The Knights did not have a single man advantage in the contest.

HAMILTON — Luca Marrelli scored the eventual winner as Oshawa (8-13-1-2) edged Hamilton (11-11-1). Luke Torrance netted the tiebreaking goal at 9:43 of the third period before Marrelli added the winner at 13:10 before the Bulldogs added one more.
