OHL Roundup: Petrov nets winner to lead Battalion to 2-1 victory over Steelheads

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Matvey Petrov scored the game winner at 19:34 of the third period to lead the North Bay Battalion to a 2-1 victory over the Mississauga Steelheads in the Ontario Hockey League on Thursday.

The Battalion (34-17-3-3), who’ve already clinched a playoff spot, have eight wins in their last 10 games.

Petrov’s goal was his 32nd of the season. Brandon Coe also scored for his 31st goal.

Zakary Lavoie had the lone goal for Mississauga (33-19-1-5).

North Bay goalie Dom DiVincentiis made 30 saves, while Roman Basran turned aside 24 shots for the Steelheads.

BARRIE, Ont. — Beau Jelsma, Grayson Tiller, Oliver Smith, Tai York and Declan McDonnell scored for the Colts (29-20-4-0). 

Declan Waddick, Brenden Sirizzotti and Danil Gushchin had singles for Niagara (16-35-2-1).
