Toronto FC says Osorio will miss weekend Vancouver game with lower body injury

TORONTO — Midfielder Jonathan Osorio will miss Toronto FC’s game Sunday in Vancouver, marking the second straight contest he has sat out due to a lower body injury.

The 29-year-old Canadian international, the club leader in appearances with 301 in all competitions, played the full 90 minutes in Toronto’s 2-1 loss to visiting FC Cincinnati last Saturday. But he did not make the trip to Ohio for Wednesday’s rematch.

Coach Bob Bradley said Osorio had been feeling discomfort in his leg.

“I don’t think that it’s very bad but it’s still lingering so that’s a concern,” Bradley said after the midweek 2-0 loss at TQL Stadium.

Toronto was also missing the injured Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, Noble Okello and Jacob Shaffelburg for the game in Cincinnati. TFC will be without midfielder Ralph Priso in Vancouver as he serves a one-game suspension following a red card in Cincinnati.

Toronto (3-5-2) has lost three straight after an unbeaten run of four games (3-0-1). Vancouver (1-6-1) has lost three straight and five of its last six.
