Veteran Woodbine jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson closing in on all-time earnings record

TORONTO — A look at Emma-Jayne Wilson, Canada’s top female jockey with a record 1,875 victories:

— Her mounts have won US$89,181,572.

— Won the 2007 King’s Plate aboard Mike Fox.

— North America’s top apprentice in 2005 after becoming the first woman to claim Woodbine’s jockey title with 175 wins and over $6.2 million in earnings.

— Won second straight Sovereign Award apprentice honour in 2006 before recording her historic Plate victory.

— In September 2012, Wilson surpassed Francine Villeneuve as Canada’s winningest female jockey.

— In 2015, Wilson combined with Sammy Jo Bell and Hayley Turner to win the Shergar Cup, the first victory for an all-female side in the team event.
