CORNWALL, Ontario - They're not cheerleaders, but hockey fans probably won't be able to tell the difference.

The Cornwall River Kings this week introduced the 'River Queen's - a collection of local women who will be bringing "a little heat" to home games at the Ed Lumley Arena, the team said in a release.

The 12-woman crew will help promote the LNAH team at home games by selling merchandise, representing sponsors through giveaways and mingling with fans.

“All professional sports franchises have promotional girls working for their teams,” said owner Brock Frost. “We simply wanted to bring the Kings to the next level.”

The River Queens will also help organize public events via the Booster Club and work with the Kids Club as well.

The 2014-15 River Queens are:

- Branka Bradley

- Kim Elderbroom

- Lisa McColl
