CORNWALL, Ontario – Seaway Valley Wrestling (SVW) held a press conference at the Nav Centre on Wednesday, Aug. 29 to announce their first show, which will be taking place at the centre on Oct. 20.

“The words ‘pro wrestling’ have not been spoken in a very long time in the City of Cornwall,” said SVW Commissioner Alain Allaire. “Cornwall was said to have the most boisterous fans around. I know it’s not dead in this city and I’m going to prove it,” he promised.”

Allaire announced that SVW’s first show would see eight matches on the card, including Big Time Pro Wrestling Champion Big Daddy D’Roy defending his title against “The Immaculate” Rick St. Jean.

Local boy Rex Orion will also be making his hometown debut against Cecil Nix.

St. Jean was unimpressed. St. Jean refused to sit at the table with the rest of the wrestlers, instead choosing to relax in the recliner chair provided by Surplus Furniture & Mattress Warehouse.

“The only reason I’m here is because they’re paying me a big fat paycheck,” St. Jean said.

The champ Big Daddy D’Roy and St. Jean exchanged words before Big Daddy D’Roy was attacked from behind by former champ Randy Berry. The intensity between these two wrestlers will surely make for a great inaugural main event, but the question remains, will Randy Berry intervene on behalf Rick St. Jean and help him steal the title away from Big Daddy D’Roy.

After the dust settled, Allaire held a draw for the recliner from Surplus Furniture & Mattress Warehouse which was won by Steve McIntyre.

Tickets for the event are available at Fantasy Realm where fans can also get their SVW merchandise, or they can contact Commissioner Allaire.
