CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Colts were crushed 6-2 by defending CCHL champions, Carleton Place Canadians, at the Ed Lumley Arena on Thursday night.
Bryce Van Horn paced the Canadians with a hat trick while Owen Grant, Nicolas Carriere and Jordan Larson each scored once. Lucas Bratt picked up three assists. Adrian Clark made 23 saves for the win.
The Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.
Tanner Spink had a goal (2) and an assist for the Colts. Nick Lalonde (5) also scored. Brett Nichol faced 27 shots and was tagged with the loss.
Lalonde was named the Cornwall Toyota Hardest working Colts player.
The Wendy’s Restaurant 3 stars were Tanner Spink (3rd Star), Andrew Dodson (2nd Star) and Bryce Van Horn.
The Colts record drops to 2-4-2 for 6 points (8th overall), while the Canadians record improves to 8-2-1 for 17 points (1st overall).
The Colts next home game is Thursday, October 1, against Nepean. Adult, senior and student fans wearing a hockey jersey will only pay an $8 (taxes included) admission.
