CORNWALL, Ontario – Rogers Hometown Hockey celebrated all things hockey this St. Patrick’s Day weekend at the Civic Complex with activities and events for the whole family.

The 24 stop tour made its way across Canada bringing live entertainment, NHL Players, prizes, and the one and only Hockey Circus show.

The event culminates into a live pregame show with Ron Maclean and Tara Slone on Sunday evening.

As the tour gets around the country they invite NHL Alumni players and for Cornwall, Chris Neil and Shayne Corson came out to sign autographs.

“The love of the game and the communal spirit everywhere you go in Canada; you can’t beat it,” said Kyle Buttenham who was the Master of ceremonies.

A few thousand people came out to join in the festivities over the weekend with one of the largest crowds gathering for Paz and his Hockey Circus.

“When he was throwing the flaming hockey sticks up in the air, that was the coolest part,” explained Max, who is 12 and was attending the Hometown Hockey festivities.

Paz hosted the show with puck juggling and hockey jokes that would make any fan laugh hysterically.

“My favourite part about Hometown Hockey is definitely the community and seeing what makes up the fabric of how hockey intwines with everyday life is great,” said Paz after juggling three flaming Hockey sticks.

The next stops to finish up the tour will be on the two following weekends in Bathurst New Brunswick, and Montreal Quebec.

The live broadcast will on Sunday nights during the game between Winnipeg and Dallas.
