CORNWALL, Ontario – Get the tomato soup ready because something cheesy is coming to Cornwall and SD&G March 5.

The TASTEBUDS are launching a new TASTE Tour. For the first time ever, TASTE will be challenging the local restaurants to grill-up their most impressive grilled cheese sandwich.

A good grilled cheese sandwich is already delicious, but what could make it even better, is knowing that it is also supporting a good cause.
TASTE Tour: Grilled Cheese Edition is partnering to support Beyond 21. The Hub for Beyond 21 is a local non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adults with special needs.

On their website, Beyond 21 explain that their vision is to enable adults with developmental disabilities to live connected, respected lives, and contribute to the community.

“We’re excited about this partnership and being able to do what we love while raising awareness and funds for a great cause” said Patrick Larose one of the TASTEBUDS.

Participating restaurants in TASTE TOUR: Grilled Cheese Edition will be donating some of the proceeds from each grilled cheese sale to Beyond 21.

“Beyond 21 is thrilled to partner with the Seaway News Taste Tour 2020 – Grilled Cheese Edition,” said Beyond 21 Executive Director Jane McLaren. “Nothing says ‘home’ like good home cooking and grilled cheese is the classic winter comfort food. Not only will you get some great home cooking, but you will also be supporting adults with disabilities helping them to gain skills for community involvement.”

The public is encouraged to try as many grilled cheese sandwiches as possible from participating restaurants and then vote online and on social media at TASTE’s Facebook page to have their say on who should be crowned the cheesiest winner.

“Now you get to try unique, tasty dishes and support a great cause at the same time.” Said TASTEBUD Matthew Girgis.
