WILLIAMSTOWN, Ontario – The 206th edition of Canada’s oldest fair took place from Friday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 13.

Fair organizers say that if you have never been to an agricultural fair before that the Williamstown Fair is the place to start, and it is hard to argue with that sentiment.

The Williamstown Fair has had over 200 years to perfect the atmosphere and feel of a country fair.

Residents of South Glengarry call the Williamstown Fair Christmas in August and you can tell why it is so beloved.

There are classic cars, Scarecrow Competitions, vendors, food, art and plant competitions as well as horse riding, animals of all sorts, highland game competitions, a talent show and rides for kids.

Of course, of everything the Williamstown Fair has to offer, the most important is the sense of community. You never know who you might meet at the meeting place at the Williamstown Fair.
