CORNWALL, Ontario – There were over 300 items up for grabs at the Cornwall Police Service (CPS) Auction on Saturday, April 6, and nearly one-third of them were bicycles.

Other items available for auction included skis, e-bikes, clothes, over a dozen computers and more.

There was a large turnout of people at the auction this year, including one lady who said she was there in the hope of finding jewellry that was stolen from her.

Money raised by the Police Auction goes to the Police Services Board, who then use the funds to support community events.

There was no Police Auction in 2018 due to a lack of items available, but in 2017, $500 of the money raised went to support the Victim Services Sponsor of Annual Fundraiser, another $500 was used to provide bikes and helmets at the annual CPS Bikes and Badges event in the summer, and $1,000 was used to support the Cornwall Boys & Girls Club annual Golf Tournament.
