Police look for individual in connection with 2018 Montreal Rd. fire

CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Police Service (CPS) is searching for the individual pictured above in relation to a fire that took place on Montreal Rd. and the corner of Alice St. on July 26, 2018.

The fire that occurred that day destroyed three buildings, including the former location of Poirier’s Furniture.

More than 30 people where displaced by the fire, which CPS deemed suspicious.

The heat from the fire was so strong that it melted the siding off of buildings on the other side of the street. There were no injuries reported.

Cornwall Fire Services were called to the scene of the fire at around 6:38 p.m.; 27 firefighters responded along with 10 initial fire personnel, two Fire Prevention Officers, a mechanic and a Fire Chief.

This is the first time since the fire was declared suspicious that the CPS has released any information about the case.
