CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall Transit has partnered with the St. Lawrence College Cornwall Student Union to offer a new semester bus pass for students at the Cornwall campus.

The passes will cost $125 per semester and will allow for unlimited travel on all of Cornwall Transit’s conventional bus routes. An annual pass will also be available to students for $250.

“We are pleased to introduce this new student pass and we hope the student body at the College will take advantage of it,” said Transit Manager Len Tapp. “It fits with Cornwall Transit’s overall goal of increasing ridership and promoting the benefits of using public transit.”

Students who purchase a semester or annual pass will have a coloured sticker applied to their student identification pass which will be shown to the driver when boarding the bus. For added convenience, the passes will be sold through the Student Union office on campus.

“This is an exciting step forward for Cornwall and St. Lawrence College! Providing more affordable and sustainable transit options for our students will benefit the entire community,” said Marc Benoit, President – CEO of the Cornwall Student Union.

The cost of the new passes represent a significant savings over the cost of regular cash fares or monthly passes, and it will provide much more flexibility to students.

“It’s an affordable option for students to travel to the College and other destinations throughout the City,” said Mr. Tapp.
