CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Triathlon is an annual tradition that draws athletes to the city from around Ontario and beyond. On Saturday, Aug. 24, it was the kids turn to compete in triathlon and duathlon competitions.

The event was full with 150 kids competing in categories ranging from ages 12-14, 10-11, 7-9 and six and under.

The duathlon competitions consisted of a run, a biking portion and a return to a run. The triathlon competitions started with a swim at the Cornwall Aquatic Centre before transitioning to a bike portion and finishing with a run.

“Today’s event went very well,” said Rob Allen, one of the event coordinators. “It gives kids an opportunity to do some physical activity.”
