CORNWALL, Ontario – An Adult/Youth Triples Tournament took place this Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Moose Lodge in support of Cornwall Youth Darts.
The event combines the skills of adult dart players and at least one youth to partake in some friendly competition – all while raising money for upcoming tournaments.
“They’re raising money to go to their zone shoot in Ottawa in two weeks,” said Kim Mills, of Cornwall Youth Darts. “However well they do there, they will go to provincials in St. Catharines during March Break.”
With nine teams of three, Mills says she’s happy with the turnout, with the majority of teams made up of parents and children.
“It’s great to see people coming out and supporting the kids,” said Mills. “We are always looking for donations to either give out as prizes at our tournaments or help the kids compete.”
Mills says that while there are currently 12 involved in youth darts, the group is always open to new members. The group meets every Saturday between 9-11:30 at the Moose Lodge from Sept. through to the end of March.
