CORNWALL, Ontario – In a post on their front door last night, Scores announced that it would be permanently closed.

“To our loyal customers over the past 6 years, thank you,” reads the sign posted in their door window on Oct. 1.

Seaway News attempted to call the Scores head office, but our call was not returned, as of 2:41 p.m. on Oct. 1, their website is down. An attempt to contact Scores via email also bounced back.

Scores’ parent company, MTY, also did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.

The Cornwall Scores franchise had opened in 2013 as a partnership between Robert Cardinal, formerly owner of the Sub Place in downtown Cornwall, and Stephane April.

Located next to Reitmans at the Brookdale Centre strip mall, Scores had a 6,000 sq. ft. venue and could seat 200.

No word on exactly how many employees were left without work by the closure, but it is well over a dozen.
