Cornwall, Ontario – On May 9, the launch of the 2024 edition of Cornwall Living magazine took place at Schnitzels European Flavours. Richard Mahoney, recently announced as the new publisher of Seaway News in Cornwall, addressed the crowd at the event. He expressed his gratitude towards the dedicated and experienced staff at Seaway News, all contributors to the magazine, Schnitzels for hosting, and the previous publisher, Rick Shaver.

Cornwall Mayor Justin Towndale, MP Eric Duncan, and staff from Walmart helped unveil a large poster of the new magazine’s front cover. The cover features Walmart employees at one of its distribution centres. The cover highlights Walmart’s 30th anniversary in Canada and celebrates the city’s largest employer.

Mayor Justin Towndale praised the magazine’s role in showcasing local success, stating, “The front cover of Cornwall Living magazine is celebrating Walmart, a company that is our largest employer in Cornwall and has been in the community for 30 years. The magazine is a great yearly asset for the city, highlighting our achievements and success so we can celebrate together.”

MP Eric Duncan also commented on the magazine’s significant role in promoting the area: “Cornwall Living magazine is a great tradition in our area for many years now, and it’s one of the best tools we have to promote our area and the good people and great things happening here. I always grab a box for my office, and when I’m out across the country and beyond, I take a few copies just to let people know about Cornwall and area, and the things we have to offer.”

Bob Peters, Manager of Economic Development for the City of Cornwall, emphasized the magazine’s reach and impact: “Cornwall Living magazine has been around for over three decades and is one of our key pieces in reaching out around the world and telling people what a great place Cornwall and the area is to invest, to live, to work, to play. The magazine finds its way to embassies, Ontario Tourism, businesses, investors, and almost every country around the world. It’s just an amazing collaboration between the advertisers, Seaway News, and the great people that make this community such a wonderful place to live. Every page in the magazine is homegrown, featuring local talent.”

Richard Mahoney shared his excitement about the magazine’s quality, saying, “The magazine reflects very well on the community. It shows how the community can come together and have a very impressive quality publication. It’s colourful, the content is excellent. The whole city should be proud.”

The 2024 edition of Cornwall Living magazine features 16 articles and hundreds of photographs showcasing local businesses, real estate, sports, arts and culture, and the wonderful people of Cornwall, serving as a tool for tourism and economic development for the region.
