Beyond 21 announced that Telus presents Cornwall Food Fest is happening on Saturday

CORNWALL, Ontario – Beyond 21 met outside of Pommier Jewellers at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31 to announce what will be happening at Telus presents Cornwall Food Fest this year. 

The food fest will take place on Pitt St. downtown on Saturday, Aug. 18.

“The Cornwall Food Fest is a fundraiser for Beyond 21. Admission is a $2 bracelet with all proceeds going to Beyond 21 (children are free),” said Beyond 21 in a press release.

Cornwall Food Fest features several food vendors. Vendors will be competing for the title of Best Street Food. Attendees can indulge in gourmet burgers, Mexican food, Jamaican food and more.

Additional to the plethora of food options, attendees can enjoy over 30 artisan vendors, activities for children from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the chance to win $200 in Downtown Dollars, live entertainment and sidewalk sales in downtown stores.

New elements this year include Your Arts Council entertaining with live buskers. Vicious Varieties will host a Polish Pageant Car Show with 22 awards, and guests will be able to vote on their favourite car. The Cornwall District Kennel Club will have a canine demo for all animal lovers, displaying obedience and scent detection.

For every 100 people who purchase a bracelet, Beyond 21 will be able to provide community based activities, such as swimming, dance and martial arts, for one week. Beyond 21 is in partnership with adults with developmental disabilities. Known as ‘dream chasers’, Beyond 21 strives to learn the dreams of these individuals, and help them to gain the proper skills to achieve those dreams.

Beyond 21 relies on donations to sustain services. Food Fest is their biggest annual event.
