Cornwall woman allegedly defrauds Ontario Works of over $50,000

CORNWALL, Ontario – Suzanne Desnoyers, 44, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2018 and charged with Fraud over $5,000.

It is alleged the woman failed to declare changes in her living arrangements to the Ontario Works Resource Centre between August, 2009 and March, 2015 which resulted in an overpayment of $57,654.81. She was taken into custody on March 19, 2018, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 12, 2018.

BREACH

CORNWALL, Ontario – A 24-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 19, 2018 and charged with breach of recognizance for communicating with her ex-boyfriend. It is alleged on March 18, 2018 the woman contacted her ex-boyfriend, despite her conditions, and police were contacted. The woman attended police headquarters on March 19, 2018 to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim in the matter.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Anthony Anson, 26, of Ottawa was arrested on March 19, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. As a result of an ongoing investigation into a drug warrant that was executed in November, 2017, a warrant was obtained for additional drug-related charges. On March 19, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

CORNWALL, Ontario – Kyle Dussiaume, 20, of Cornwall was arrested on March 19, 2018 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged between August 27-29, 2017, the man attended the residence of a male and female known to him and removed property from the residence without permission. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 19, 2018 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on April 12, 2018.

OBSTRUCT POLICE

CORNWALL, Ontario – Lori McConkey, 54, of Williamstown was arrested on March 19, 2018 and charged with obstruct police. It is alleged while police were investigating an unrelated matter on March 19, 2018 the woman repeatedly interfered with the police investigation. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 26, 2018.
