CORNWALL, Ontario – Environment Canada is predicting strong winds to affect Cornwall and the surrounding area.
“The passage of a cold front is ushering in strong westerly winds this morning,” an Environment Canada weather statement reads. “Widespread wind gusts to 70 km/h are expected with isolated wind gusts to 80 km/h. The wind will begin to ease later this afternoon.”
The statement goes on to say that power outages may be possible in some areas.
According to The Weather Network temperatures are to remain in the high single digits throughout the day, with a possibility of rain this afternoon.
The Weather Network predicts wind gusts approaching 60 km/h throughout the afternoon.
