CORNWALL, Ontario – Team Cornwall awarded eight high school students on Thursday, July 5 at City Hall for their strong qualities of character and good citizenship. Each student was awarded with $500 and a Team Cornwall shirt, so they can act as ambassadors of Cornwall while they continue their education.

“These bursaries are to recognize these exceptional students and help them receive the education they want, as well as to encourage them to promote our beautiful city,” said Peter Gault, Chair of Team Cornwall.

Each student was awarded with $500 and a Team Cornwall shirt so they can act as ambassadors of Cornwall while they continue their education. Gault said that the students chosen this year represent a diverse range of post-secondary careers, from nursing, to carpentry to law.

The Team Cornwall High School Bursary has been given out to graduating students for the past eight years. Faculty members of each high school in Cornwall selected one lucky recipient.

“These students were chosen because they are leaders and proud of our city,” said City Councillor David Murphy to Team Cornwall. “As ambassadors, we hope they will continue to speak highly of Cornwall and let everyone know how great of a community this is.”
