CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall woman is in jail after attacking her two children – one of which is just eight years old.
The woman, 35, was charged with two counts of assault, but police are not saying if the case was one of abuse, or discipline gone too far.
The other child in the case is 12.
Cornwall Community Police Service Const. Daniel Cloutier told Seaway News the children suffered minor injuries as a result of the alleged assault and medical attention was not required.
When pressed Cloutier would not divulge the nature of the attacks.
Police say officers were called out to investigate the incident at 8:30 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 18).
The woman was arrested on Tuesday (Jan. 19) and held for a bail hearing.
No names were released to protect the victims’ identities.
