CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall and area paramedics are banding together to help raise money for local children.

The paramedics have created the ‘Wish Upon a Medic’ foundation to raise money for local sick and injured children. The foundation’s first project is to sell Christmas trees in advance of the holidays.

The sale of the trees – white spruces – will be done Dec. 5 and with only a limited number in supply, orders are being taken right now.

Last year paramedics raised funds for some young cancer patients and decided to take it up a notch this year.

“We decided to expand it and created an incorporated foundation for charity,” said paramedic Tim Hartle.

All the proceeds from the sale of the $40 trees will go towards helping area youth. The locally-grown trees will be between five and eight feet tall.

Paramedic Sophie Tasse said the foundation plans to do fundraising events throughout the year.

To order a tree send an email to wishuponamedic@gmail.com.
