CORNWALL, Ontario – A Cornwall man has been charged after threatening to post defamatory statements concerning a city woman if he wasn’t paid money.
Police nabbed David Oldham, 25, of Cornwall and charged him with extortion.
The threats to go public with the information allegedly took place Oct. 11. A police investigation resulted in Oldham presenting himself to police headquarters and being charged. He was released to appear in court.
The charges have not been proven.
The name of the alleged victim, 52, was not released by police.
