CORNWALL, Ontario – Bereaved Families of Ontario – Cornwall provide support for people of all ages during the most difficult times in their lives, right after they have lost someone, and on Saturday, Sept. 15, they held their annual gala so that they can raise funds and continue this important work.
The gala took place at the Best Western Parkway Inn in Cornwall.
Gisele Roy of Bereaved Families of Ontario – Cornwall said that she expected around 136 people to attend and help them raise money for their children and youth programs.
“A lot come back year after year,” said Roy. “We have some people who have been coming here for five to 10 years.”
There was an auction where guests could win wonderful prizes such as a lunch on Parliament Hill with MP Guy Lauzon, a $250 gift certificate for four for Summerheights Golf Links a $100 gift basket from Kid’s Korner and more.
Some of the sponsors for the evening included Cornwall Dental Arts, Velocity Motors, Healing Wishess, Samson Chair Covers, Mark A. Macdonald, Carl Broughton, Michelle Huntely, Desjardins, Via Rail and the Best Western Parkway Inn.
Entertainment was provided by Moe Lemieux and Peter Kilpatrick who played dinner music, which was followed by comedian Derek Seguin.
