CORNWALL, Ontario – The Grind Café and Wine Bar will be closing on Feb. 3 after nearly eight-years in business.
Café owner Sue Martin said that the time had come.
“It has been almost eight years, my daughter is having a baby. It’s just kind of time,” she said.
Martin explained that she hoped to rent the space to a new business.
“We’re hoping to have someone open something,” she said. “It would be nice for our customers to still have somewhere to go.”
She said that while it is sad, there is always room for new possibilities.
“It has been great and we’ve met a lot of people,” Martin said. “All good things come to an end. When one door closes another opens.”
Throughout their eight years in business, The Grind has held Open Mic nights where local artists can come and perform. The last Open Mic night at The Grind will be on Thursday, Feb. 1.
